Re: 91 octane map, switch to 116 map

What kind of upgrades does he have? If he's got a really nasty set up then I guess it makes sense, but I don't think the higher octane really makes that much of a difference unless the car has an agressive set up (N/A or turbo).

hmm, I guess it makes sense then. It certainly isn't going to do any bad. How much is it gonna cost to do the whole thing?

Re: 91 octane map, switch to 116 map

you need to switch ecus everytime you switch fuel. also at 340whp he doesnt need 116, 91 can go till 400whp. also yeah it sounds like a good idea but what about the return line? is he gonna run a way to switch return lines to the aux tank ? if not then the 116 is going back to the stock tank and is gonna mix with his 91.

Re: 91 octane map, switch to 116 map

why use a different gas tank with a base map on 116? how about filling the tank up with 100+ and switching to a tuned map.................or am i just getting old?

91 is good to a lot more than 400 WHP, I watched a local car here bust 465 to the ground on 91 octane before he called it quits, that's enough for me to see Everyone just goes ultra-conservative with tuning, which is why most people stop at 400-ish. A seperate tank is too many headaches to deal with. He will make more power than street tires can take on pump gas, why slap a second tank in there? If he REALLY wants to make more power on pump gas run a methanol kit instead of dicking with a second gas tank.
