Transmission jolt when going into R cold

I have a 2000 LeSabre Ltd. that gives quite a jolt from the tranny when shifting out (foot on brake) of Park and into Reverse - only happens in the morning when first started. Silky smooth the rest of the day.

Any ideas?

Tranny fuild is within full range and looks clean. Has 85K miles on her.

TIA

Document ID#901351 (00-07-30-002B) speaks of the pressure control solenoidValve causing something like this. I'm not sure if this is your problem or not. The fix is to clean the valve body and replace the solenoid. There is a test but it is too lenghthy to type.

LeBuick, thanks for the advise - I'll have it checked on next LOF.

BTW, tranny shifts normally if I go from P to N then to R. Weird?!
