Unhappy Rim Destroied

Sorry about this, but it is an emergency.
I was driving arround my house when I hit one of my rims against the side walk . I scrashed almost the whole edge of it. I dont know what to do. There are some deep scars and some little ones, so I was thinking about sanding it and paint them balck. they are almost new rims wiht no scrashes on them so I want to find a way to make them look good again, not new, but good.

what do you think and what would you do?

Re: Rim Destroied

What kind of rimz?
What kind of finish?
A good performance/body shop can sand down and polish out and deep gashes and refinish a crome lip easily.

Re: Rim Destroied

The rimz are Montegi Racing RT5 silver (they are not crome) 16''. Know any solution?

Re: Rim Destroied

not bad..but in my opinion same still applys take them to a reputable body shop and see what they can do about sanding and buffing them for you..As for doing it your self sure you can but painting them black I woudlnt suggest that...

if the scrathes are deep you may end up being better off buying another rim. if you take it to a shop you will prolly end up paying about as much as you would buying another rim. thats my

Re: Rim Destroied

^^ You might be right but from my experiences having 18' crome lips refinished cost 90$..I would think it would be cheaper than being that its alloy if that helps.

i would probably buy a new rim and keep the scratch one as a spare. 16's dont cost as much as 18" wheels and the fact that their silver and not chrome make them even less expensive. be more carefull next time, i am sure we have all made dumb mistakes, i know i have, peace.
