live fuel pump

97 clio .pump under rear seat.battery started going dead overnight and it wasnt until we sat in the car at dead of night that we heard pump.with charged battery,ignition off it is still running.have to lift rear seat and disconnect.tricians say pump.....but if it has a live feed? please help .fathers car the problem and earache r doing my head in.
