Question Fuel Pump Relay

I had a previous post about my 1996 Escort regarding occasional hard to start. Now I have a different question which may be related.I notice that sometimes when I turn the key to the position where you can hear the fuel pump that there is nothing. On the second or third try I hear the pump and the car starts right up.Maybe that is what happens on the times the car is harder to start.Could it be the relay or the fuel pump itself? How hard is it to change the relay?

The fuel pump relay is no harder to change that un-plugging or plugging
in a coffee pot.

You should hear the fuel pump or the relay 'click' when you turn the ignition switch 'ON' (not start). If the Fuel Pressure Regulator senses low pressure at the injectors the pump will run and vice versa.

I went back on I think was your last post that I answered relative to the temperature gauge...you didn't provide any feedback...what did you do to correct that problem? My point is, if you combine all the symptoms into one thread that have not been corrected, it may help to identify the 'root cause'.

Re: Fuel Pump Relay

OIC...
Suggestion: Combine the symptoms specific to each vehicle and number them 1, 2, or 3.
Your post #3 failed to respond to the temperature gauge condition.???
