Question no air bag deployment????

I'm not sure if anyone would be able to help me with this, but I figured that I would give it a try....

i wrecked my car today....and my air bags didn't deploy. Now, I'm not a genius when it comes to vehicles, but I'm pretty sure that a collision with that much pressure would cause air bag deployment.

my question here is, is it possible that there was something wrong with the air bags? And if so, should I contact a lawyer or the dealership I bought the car from?

Any information will help and be highly appreciated.

Thanks,
Amanda

I hope no one got injured. Check with your dealer or body shop to see if they can explain from looking at the car. Not all crashes will deploy the air bag.

Thanks for your reply. The tough part about the whole situation is that I bought the car from a dealership that is 4 hours away from me, so it's not so easy to take the car there. Plus I can't drive the vehicle. I will call the body shop today to see what they can figure out. Oh, and I was not injured and luckily was the only person in the vehicle. The other driver involved is fine, also. I just can't understand why a collision like that wouldn't deploy the air bag. I could be wrong, though. THanks again.

What part of your car was damaged in the collision?
What is the model year of your car?
The body shop should be able to tell you where the sensors are and if they are corroded.
