95 rear window shifted up 1/2 inch...

Hi all.. I replaced the lifts on my rear window/hatch about a year ago (the old ones lost all their 'oomph') and I've noticed that the back window has now shifted very gradually 'up'.. so that it is now a litlte more than a half inch out of alignment in the 'up' direction...

This causes a few problems.. going down the highway the upper lip of the glass is now a tad bit higher than the roof.. and because of the shift the window 'seal' isn't making good contact so I get a lot of 'air' and noise at high speeds.

The other problem it has caused is that it stretched the cable going to the strip of LEDs on the upper brake light and has damaged that wire.. so that my brake lights don't light unless I wiggle that wire while pressing on the brake peddle....

So.. my question is How do you adjust the position/alignment of the rear window??? the only place it's connected to the vehicle is the two hinges on the roof.. and they don't 'adjust' there are 2 bolts on each one and a -guide post- for the hinge.. so even if you loosen the bolts.. you can't 'slide' the hinge down cause the guidepost prevents any adjustment.

Any previous experience with this? anyone?

thanks,
Tim

I recently replaced my cylinders on my 95 s10 blazer rear hatch and it eventually raised it about 3" out of alignment. I took of the after market lifters and the rear glass settled back down with some extra effot from myself.
Did you replace yours with cheverolet parts or with aftermarket parts?
Did you ever correct the alignment problem?
Do the hinges just glue to the window?

I saw another post suggesting to drill out slots in the hinge where it bolts to the truck. here
