Re: Motor swaps

2.4L, 3800 (s/c), 3400, 3100 (3.1L), 2.8L, 2.3L(HO), Small block v-8 chevy (takes ALOT of work), Ecotec.

that's all I can think of off the top of my head that can/have been done. Best one IMO is the 2.3L (HO), 180+ WHP stock, with out all the extra work, in fact some companies are even offering the cam towers with the CPS installed for the 97 GT computer, just takes a quick reprogramming (harder to do since programmers are hard to find) or a stand alone unit to make the power come alive.

Re: Motor swaps

around $3000 (you gotta buy the tranny/axles too) or so, for about 60 more HP on a fresh motor with no mods, get the mods done and your well over 200hp, or, spend the money upfront and get the 2.5L S/C (same motor bored/stroked) or the 2.6L N/A (bored/stroked even more and putting down over 300 CHP) and have lots of fun. be warned though, you will have to redo your wiring (to get OBD1) and get some suspension mods done or you will tear up your car fast all in all I'm gonna say around $7500 for the modded motors.
I have the HO in my car and can hang with stock SRT4's and GTI's, and for the price of their stage 2, I can turbo my motor and be faster for less money. if they go stage 3, I can get forged internals and more boost for me for less money, and I'll still be faster.
