Exclamation 84 firebird squeal

My son just put a 350 in his 84 firebird and it has 700 miles on it. Now it squeals so loud he can't figure out where the noise is coming from. Electric fan? or the flywheel? Would the 350 tranny make that kind of noise?

Re: 84 firebird squeal

most likly a belt, like jason said, it happens when you put new motors in, you sometimes dont get things as tight as they should be so then they work loose.... if that dont fix it then try to take a stick or something, and listen to the pulleys... one may be bad, or loose...

Unhappy its bad

We found the problem. Whoever rebilt the engine forgot one of the fod bearings. Guess what happened. It broke the rod when he was trying to drive it to my house 3 miles, he only made it 1/2 mile when it destroyed the engine. broke the cam knocked out some of the lifters and push rods, broke off the bottem of two cylinders, and the crank was ruined anyway. Who would of thought someone would be that goofy to forget one of the bearings. Should always check everything I guess when buying from joe blow inlaw relation. Jezzz what a mess. Thank you guys for the input, I thought the very same as you'all did. gona have to get another block and star over. it even broke a couple of the 10:1 pistons.
