Good question!

None of my manuals mention a

P0181 Fuel Temperature Sensor A Circuit Range/Performance

code.
Alldata has no mention of it anywhere for my 97. The closest I came on Google is a mention of a Fuel temp sensor attached to the fuel rail feeding the injectors. (possibly for flex fuel?) My 97 doesn't have one though.
If someone doesn't jump in here try the OBD2 website (an excellent resource) and try the question:

Re: 0181 Where is fuel temp sensor?

I think the fuel temp sensors came into being with the newer single fuel line systems. I don't know when this was for the Winnie, ...but it was later than my '99.
