IGN module "faulty"
Ok, lets see .... i took the car for inspection about a month ago or so, guy calls me in the morning "overnight deal" ... and says the car won't start ... so i go down there and pull out a used ign module, toss it in, it fires up ... later that night i run out with it for takeout and it shuts it self off on an exit ramp comin home, triple A to the rescue ... so i get it home, next morning it fires right up ... i let it run for about 40 minutes and it dies, won't restart ... so i replaced it with another module and replaced the coil, now to find out its NOT the coil, yesterday it ran for 3 hours straight, so i shut it off ... this morning i went to fire it up for another long test "didn't wanna be a victim of Triple a again" ... and it won't start, so i swap out the G.P module for the stock again, to my suprise it fires up, runs great, another 40 minutes go bye, it shuts off ... again no spark ... my question is, should i be using a high performance like a borg warner or accel and could that simply be the problem ..... other than this issue car runs good .... i'm getting frustrated, spring times comin up soon and i need this thing done.
P.S the guy that does most of the work said it looked like the one that died was a performance module ... i never looked while i've owned this car, would the fact of it being cheap really cause this ?? ... 1990 camaro iroc-z 5.7 ..
