Re: 98 tahoe wont start
check the fuel pressure. it needs to be at around 60psi or the injectors won't inject.

High miles? Cap and Rotor contact points burnt out. Probably Original, Replace Cap and Rotor

Your problem is your fuel pump, I am almost sure of this. When you turn on your ignition, do you hear your fuel pump run, prime the system? It will only do this from a cold start, after the system is primed, it will hold this prime for quite a while before it has to be primed again. Try it, turn the key on after it's set for a couple of hours. If you don't hear the fuel pump run for about three seconds, that's your problem. There was a TSB on the pigtail to the fuel pump which is located inside the fuel tank. Good luck

Re: 98 tahoe wont start
same issue here on an 02. mechanic says it is the idle aircontrol, but with all these fuel pump issues on Tahoes I certainly am not ruling that out.

my 97 tahoe does the same thing. as a matter of fact thats why i joined the site. what im doing to keep it running is using a can of Seafoam fuell line treatment. it seems to be the only thing that keeps it running. im thinking that i have a huge carbon build up inside the intake and t.b. keep posting if anyone knows anything better-please
