1.8L DOHC Valve Cover Bolts

Guess I don't know my own strength, not only did I break one, but I broke two, being super careful on the second bolt, broke right off. I have 'em tapped out and put bolts on all the corners and have no visible oil leaks, but I'd like to pick up some replacement bolts and am having an insanely hard time find ANYTHING on the net, and all the local shops won't let me near the engine/cylinder heads at the salvage yards.

Does anyone know of a place to buy a few, or know of anyone with a wrecked Escort that might part with a few valve cover bolts? heh

You say you have "em tapped out"......are they the original size and thread pitch?.....
I buy my metric replacement bolts at a local machine shop.

yep thats what I did when I snapped a few of mine. for you can go to ford and buy the stock chrome ones for like $20....each. but an ace ahrdware by me has chrome bolts and nuts and things like that that you can buy, but I just matched the size and pitch, threw in a washer and put all new bolts on mine.

Guess I should've said I drilled 'em out and picked the edges out with some pliers, so its original hole/pitch. Haven't changed the threads. The Ford dealer here in Oregon (Eug/Spgfld) doesn't stock/carry any engine components for an escort so i guess I get to play the call around game.
