Go Karts - off topic

well i've been playing with cars for a while now and i'm getting a little bit fatigued at having all of these partially completed projects laying around waiting for parts so i figures what new project could i start that isn't a full size car cause i have enough full size cars. I decided to build a go kart. My friend is building one too so we'll have a pair of them that we can race. I started to draw up some plans and i'm been doing research on engines and i'm gonna go with the Honda GX390 13 hp horizontal drive and i'm still doing math to determine what speed i want it to top out on so which sprocket combo to use (probably fairly low cause i want to do burnouts and have some torque) but anyway i thought that this would be a fun project and was woundering if anyone in this forum had done anything like it or had any information relating to it thanks for any responses

Re: Go Karts - off topic

built one a couple years ago. 5hp honda motor. does 65 km (~40 mph) also des burnouts. go and pick up a torque converter drive, works like a snowmobile trans with a belt and varible diamiter pullies. lots of pickup
