Video Compression Software

Ok, I'm really new to all this Video stuff, and I was wondering if there was a good program that I could get to Edit/compress video. I'm trying to post some, but they need Compressed badly. Thanks for any help.
Kevin.

Re: Video Compression Software

I use Adobe Premiere

Don't use it if you've got a slow compy. My 2.7 ghzP4 and 512 RAM is just enough for it to run without crashing all the time, although it does occasionally crash.

Most compys come with Windows Movie Maker, which while it isn't great, it's not really bad either.
