Angry something is draining battery 1998 contour

i have a 1998 ford contour has only 40000 miles on it, it stalled one day on the hwy seemed to be the alternator, changed it drove it around town for a few days seemed fine, tried to drive it on the hwy again stalled again. it will start if i let it sit for 20 minutes or so and it takes about 40 minutes or so for it to stall. mechanic said its the alternator but since this has started over a year ago we have replaced the alternator 3 times and it has a brand new battery in it. someone please help!

usually when the alternator takes a crap, the main fuse for the alternator takes a dump too which is located on the main wiring harness. If you have a V6 its located behind the rear valve cover on the main harness.
