I'm looking to put a header on my 03' S-10, 2.2 motor. I'm kinda dissapointed the "name" guys don't have them. Any recomendations? I'll also be using a cat back system and Hi-flow intake.
I'm in Cali so I'll nedd CARB approved stuff. Thanks

you'd probably be better off with a complete high flow system.

I don't think there is much of a market out there for 2.2L headers.... this is not a "performance" kind of engine..... I suspect you'd be hard pressed to find an aftermarket intake system. You might have to go with some home-grown improvements... check the intake track.... look for restrictions to air flow. In the interest of subdueing intake roar, the engineers puposely make the intake quite restrictive; remove or open up the restrictions and you've got free HP. Out the back end I would opt for a Dynomax catback system with their "TurboMuffler".... this muff flows very well and is really pretty quiet.... a cast-iron, 4-banger truck engine just doesn't sound all that great with a "meaner" style of exhaust. If the original cat is a high mileage unit, consider replacing it with a higher flow unit from Catco or MagnaFlow.......

ive got a magnaflow on my 4.3 that was ment for a jeep ( the 8cyl not the small ones) and that, along with the exhaust from the local custom exhaust shop really opend up some power on my truck, it wont be as great with a 2.2, but i did notice a head jerking difference between then and now
