I have a 91 s10 with 145000 miles on it. My truck is automatic with a 4.3L. When i take my truck out of park and put it in reverse/drive i hear this wining or squeeking noise in the cab, but if i push the shifter on the column just a hair it stops. I thought it could be the shift linkage but im not sure on an automatic. Any one know what this could be?

I don't know, but I have a 2002 Grand Cherokee that will do something like that once in a while when I put it in reverse.
Can put it back in park them go back to reverse and most of the time it stops, my dealer could never find the cause for this.
