Re: If i wasnt moving out

haha no , nice cluster, different rear arms, nicer back end etc.

however through today i have found this out

We were told during several phone calls to Justin that the car was in A1 condition and was mint. So off we went on a 322 mile journey with 1800 quid cash to buy Andy a new motor. When we got there the guy told us he's meet us in a petrol station so we waited for the mint condition SiR to arrive.

We were very dissapointed when it did. None of the faults mentioned in his ebay ad were verbally thrown at him as i was walking round the car. we ended up arguing for 10 mins due to him talking through his arse and saying that our perception of mint was too high and that as far as he was concerned his SiR is mint.

The car itself seemed pretty genuine. But the condition was nowhere near mint. It needs a full respray due to it being covered in stone chips (the bonnet, roof and even the spoiler!) If you wanted it to be remotely near mint it will need a drivers door (there's a small dint in it) 2 new wings (both are covered in dints passenger side being the worst) front bumper as its been scuffed on both corners, a bonnet due to the rather suspitious crease over the drivers headlight, both rear arches would need rust treating and spraying, the rear bumper could be repaired an if you wanted to keep it in its SiR form then you'd have to due to it not having fogs like the uk cars. The rocker cover has had a dodgy spray job in black and the cam seal that often fails on the b16 has been gunked up with a black instant gasket.

I told him it wasn't worth any where near his 1895 asking price and he said that there were several people coming to see it the day after. I asked him if he had told them what he had told us about the car and he said he had so i advised him to call them and tell them about the cars dodgy body work. I told him that he might end up with someone coming who wouldn't be as polite as me coming to see it and they would probably end up thumping him if they found it in the same state as i did.

As for him not cleaning it the car had been cleaned and polished but you can't polish an expensive turd!

If i was going to buy it i wouldn't pay over 1300 for it!

Note to everyone:

When selling anything, describe the condition as honestly as you can cos it really does piss people off when its not as Mint as you described!

HTH Guys
Nick

Re: If i wasnt moving out

well i know that the guys has told someone that he wants at least £1300 for it even though he advertised it in the Autotrader for £1895 (which is way too much)

i would pay £1000 for it but no more judging from what i heard
