need help buying

hi all.... i read that the intrepid has engine probs with sludge....
i'm looking to get a 2001 intrepid 3.2L ES 60000mi,

and anyone confirm weather or not this is a bad engine?

Well I can't give you too much advice on a 2001. I had a 1996 with the 3.5L. It was a great car, good mgp, power, and handled extremely well. If you can find a 1994-1997 they are great. The main problems with those years were water pumps, fuel rails, and the trannies. As with all cars out there, lemons will be around, but if you take care of any vehicle it will take care of you.

the 2.7 is the bad engine for sludge the 3.2 is a good engine

The 3.5 engines in the first generation treps rock! A strong runner and, for the most part, dependable. But the trannies with them (42LE/A606) suck!
