'95 Olds LSS'88 SHAKES on Acceleration

I'm crying in my beer! Here this car goes again. Situation, several weeks ago, while going 0-5 mph for about 20 mins. I felt a "shake" in the steering wheel. In neutral, engine sounds wonderful, like silk. After a week or so of the steering wheel shake, it started shaking, bucking? only when I accelerated and only when it hit about 50mph. If I take foot off the gas pedal, she stops! and if I go over 60mph she stops! The engine servicer light went on when it all started.
Mechanic fixed it, (he-he) he said anyway. Put in a ..oh I cant remember the name near the engine but there are three of them I think and round and cost about 25.00 and he said I was running on only 4 cylinders! Nope. drove out and felt shake immediately in steering wheel. He put it on computer then and came up with these codes:
341 intermittant cam signal
321 no IBX? or 18X? (cant read his writing) ignition pulse
300 misfire detected
he wiped out the codes and said it might get better and that the misfire code was probably from the round thingy he replaced.
Anyway guys, please if you can help me discern which of these codes might be causing the problem I'd so much appreciate it. I've spent so much on this car ... god, what a lemon, I could own a cadillac by now methinks!
ONE OTHER THING, backing out of garage one day last week, heard a noise in reverse. Drove down to the nearest garage and asked them to check trans fluid. (I dont think it has ever been checked...at least not years) they said it was fairly low and added fluid. I wonder, could this be the problem, a transmission problem?
Any help, any words at all will be cherished. Or you can email me at [email protected]
Thanks everyone
Joyce

Re: 1995 Delta LSS not supercharged

from the codes he pulled its probably a camshaft position sensor. Also, if you have more questions, it would be best not to put them in the muscle car forums considering the '95 LSS is not a muscle car.

To Dirdisque

You're sooooooo right. Aint no muscle car here.
Sorry for the post. Dont know how it happened.
Thanks for your input. ...... altho about a year ago I had an intermittent no start problem which occurred once a week. Wait a half hour and it would start! This went on for months. Engine check said it was the cam. The cam and crank sensor were replaced and it was replaced and everything was fine. When I saw the code, I figured they never erased them from last year. So I dont know why you were thinking cam .....?????? no start problem and car shaking all over?
Do they both come from a cam sensor?
|Thanks

Re: 1995 Delta LSS not supercharged

it could definitely come from a cam sensor, the cam sensor is how cars with Distributorless ignitions decide when to send spark to the spark plugs, withouth spark at the right time it can cause the engine to either not run or run very roughly.

Thanks again, Dr. Disque!
I just drove out and shut the garage door on the muscle cars and will drive my little lemon far away to the next garage and never bother you guys again! .... sure wish you lived near Cobleskill,NY
The garage I stopped in last week, told me I needed a tune up. Now, I can go, "armed for bear" Thanks again, dr.

WRONG!

EVERY GENERATION HAS IT'S HOT RODS (muscle cars) BESIDES THE 1995 AURORA, THE 1995 LSS WAS ONE OF THE HOTTEST OLDSMOBILES OF THAT YEAR. CONSIDERING EVERYTHING THIS GUY ISN'T DRIVING ONE OF THOSE JAP CRAPS... SO GIVE HIM HIS PROPS.

BY THE WAY I HAVE A '95 LSS RUNNING 15.2 IN THE 1/4. SITTING ON 18" DETATA WHEELS FOR HANDLING AND FLOWMASTER DUALS FOR SOUND AND PERFORMANCE, WITH COLD AIR INTAKE. MY CAR HAS TAKEN TROPHYS AT OCA (OLDS CLUB OF AMERICA) SPONCERED CAR SHOWS. SO I GUESS THE OCA CONSIDERS A '95 LSS AS SOME KIND OF MUSCLE CAR...
