tire size

i have 04 Z71 with stock 16 inch rims. what is the biggest tire can i put on there with any clearance problems. also looking at getting the 05 rims that are 17 inch rims so what can i put on those rims.

I would enquire into it a bit before you do anything like that. I am not sure but it may void your powertrain warranty if you goto a larger tire/rim size.

I put 285/75/16 BFGs on my stock 2003 Extended cab 4x4 1/2 ton with no rubbing. And I use it off road. I DID crank up the torsion bars about 1/2 inch, but I think the tires would clear without the extra 1/2 inch.
