21.6 mpg on my '94 S15 v6
I just took a trip down the central valley in California. Before I left I had the 225-75-R15s replaced with 205-75-R15s, popped in some new platinum plugs, new wires, changed the oil, and flushed the raddy. I guess that means a basic tune-up...
On my trip I averaged 21.6 mpg. This was up from my previous 19 mpg average in normal highway driving. Perhaps I shouldn't get too excited but hey, simple pleasures for simple minds.

Hey, with gas costing what it does, you should be excited. When it's $3 a gallon this summer, you'll REALLY be stoked!

We just have to wonder if he factored in the change in tire size which would affect the miles driven.

stock tires are the 205-75-R15 that I had installed on the truck.
The 225-75-R15 were considered "plus 0" oversize (see America's Tire Co. ). And regarding the price of gas: we appear to be near the peak of price for the next two years or so (barring unforseen events).
