ex manifold wanted

im looking for a left(drivers)side dual exhaust manifold for a 1966 olds 425 for a dynamic 88 ragtop.
i dont think they ever offered dual exhaust on this car...so i think a 98 or other full size manifold would work for my application. gm#393233L
thanks

Re: ex manifold wanted

Oh man, this is what I get for not paying attention last March.
I have had a set for years...............they're under a workbench doing nothing after I put headers on my Olds.

Glad to see you solved your problem anyways.

Re: ex manifold wanted

Hello,

Be Carefull Left Side Manifolds Are Tricky.... Full Size Olds' Had What Looks Like A Chevy Ram Horn (center Exit), Because The Gear Box Was Only Inches From The Firewall. Also Some Aftermarket Or Repro's Are Not Like The Original "x" Manifold, Witch If You Have A Big Block In A Cutlass Body Car That Is Manifold You Are Going To Want. Please Leave Further Info And I May Be Able To Help.

Al

Re: ex manifold wanted

had no problems with the repro manifold it was an exact replica of what came on the car (66 dynamic 88 with 425). my engine/tranny and steering are stock to what came with the car...except for a few upgrades (30 over, mild cam bigger carb and intake..etc) the manifold runs close to the steering box and starter...which might be a reason this wasnt a popular option. i would think the excessive heat on the starter did wonders after awhile. but this car is my fun car (weekends and nice summer days) and not a daily driver anymore...although it runs good enough to be. so the heat from the manifold hasnt been a problem. however the pre-bent dual exhaust pipes i bought on e-bay...bent to factory specs where way off. gonna hit up local muffler shop for a better set of pipes....the tailpipes where fine but the manifold back pipes were way off (beware! dont bother trying to get pre-bent pipes for a full size olds unless 100% sure they will fit).
