Hello,
I was looking for a way to program my fob's and came across this forum. I'm glad this resource exists and I'm sure I'll be using it often. Anyway on to my question. My wife and I just bought our first suburban last night (01 LT) and I had a concern/question. It was pouring rain for most of yesterday and some last night. When my wife went out to the burb this morning she noticed that the passenger floorboard was soaking wet from the outer edge inward about an inch for the length of the door. The dealer did detail it last night before we brought it home so I wasn't sure if it was left over from cleaning the floorboard or if it was leaking overnight. Can anyone tell me if a leak along these lines is common for this year? I have a day or two that I can take it back or have the dealer fix it before I'm stuck with an issue and any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.. |

I have a 2000 suburban Lt, have not had a water problem yet. there are several seals on these doors. check to see if both sides are the same. I would be tempted to take it back and document the problem if it would help with future problems in this area.
how about the hose test, run some water over that side and see if it gets any worse. hope this helps, |

Re: 2001 Wet Floorboard
Sounds simular to a problem I had with my 99 silverado (new body style). It was some body filler missing from the upper door frame. It is easy to see if you open the passanger door and pull back the black rubber trim. You will see a seam that should be completely filled with filler, mine had a hole about the size of the head of a pin that when it would rain would soak my passanger side floor. You can also do the water test with the inside trim piece (by the windsheild off, it just pops off) if this is the problem and you spray at the door or top of the windsheild you can see it run down the inside frame. Also check the blower motor area, there is a sponge (for noise reduction) that will get soaked and cause the blower motor to go out.
Finally, my truck also leaked from the door itself. If you spray water on the window of the passanger side door, I had water coming out from just under the pocket in the door, seamed to get in behind the plastic barrier. Never did figure that one out got rid if that POS first. Have a suburban now! Might be worth a look and sorry for the length. |
