1984 Caprice Project car
I am working on a 1984 Caprice Classic 2 doorLandau edition. I have a 350 small block, fuel injected, out of a 1987 Camaro Iroc-Z that I plan installing into it. First off, I would like to find as much information as posible on these engines, and the capability of installing a carb onto them. This engine has fully rebuilt internals including solid lifters and a bigger cam. My plan was to install a 750 CFM Edelbrock carb and a high rise intake manifold...probably a Victor Jr. from edelbrock. I have already found headers and exhaust parts for this engine. Another question on this car...can I swap a posi rear end from a truck over to this car. Or will the leaf spring setup cease this possibility. And also I plan on swapping the brake setup, but I'm in debate as to if I should swap the bigger drums from a Caprice Wgn or convert to disc brakes out of an LT1 police edition. If I did this I would also switch the rear end. Does anyone know of a conversion kit for either possibility. Also included into my plans for a comfy hot rod, I'm going to need stiffer springs. I have already installed air shocks on the car. This car is running larger tires, so I had to get it raised up with the air shocks. Now, I am also looking for two doors to fit onto the car, as mine are really rusty and need replacing (preferably white doors). This car is a project and price is not really a problem. I plan on making this a real classic and any help is appreciated.

Fuel injection
Well, I had heard that I may be better off keeping it fuel injection. What do you suggest? If I did keep the fuel injection, how could I push more power out of the engine then the internals already built up in it?

Not to mention I've always thought a 350 looks better with a carb rather then fuel injected. I talked to my father yesterday and he tells me the only problem I may have in converting to carb. is the crank sensor. A correction to some of my information...it's a 1986 Camaro Iroc-Z this 350 is out of. I shouldn't have any problems with the fuely heads matching up to a high rise intake manifold and 750 CFM carb. I've been keeping an eye out on ebay for a carb. Would I be better off running a 750 CFM or a 650 CFM? I've been told that the 750 CFM might flood. Then again, I've been told it won't, with the upgrades I've got in the engine. The previous owner told me of the modifications before I purchased the engine, but I'm going to have him write it down so I can post it up here. Any help is appreciated.

Keep your fuel injection. Is it Throttle Body Injection or Multi-port Injection? If its TBI, it has loads of potential. Check out the following link:
http://www.goingfaster.com/spo/praisetbi.html If it is TBI, some improvements that could be made include a large throttle body, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, higher flowing injectors, and injector pod and throttle body spacers. It all depends on what you are trying to do. Check out www.turbocity.com or any other parts store/catalog for further details. Why trash a good system for an outdated carb? There is a reason stock vehicles don't come with carbs anymore. Heck, there's a whole lot of reasons.
