PIAA H3's ??

Alright, I know that people have upgraded to the PIAA H3 Ion Crystal lights (55W) I think. Now my question lies in the fact that does this bulb burn hot enough to melt the plastic lamps? Or should just see if I can find some glass lamps to put them in?

Just on the side, If you did upgrade to the H3 Ion Crystal's, where would you recommend purchasing them?

Thanks!

If you are looking to replace the stock bulbs in your X's foglights they have the bulbs and the glass lenses. Otherwise you'll melt the plastic ones.

Yeah, I guess that is what I'm asking. I've heard people were able to add the H3 Ion's without melting. This isn't true?

Keep in mind that the bulbs won't last long either because the factory fogs are not sealed and allow dirt and moisture to get in on the bulb. The PIAA 1500 XT's (?) fit well in the factory location and you would be money ahead to just buy the whole lamp. Besides, putting more wattage into a lamp that gets full of dirt and has a very poor pattern doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

You'll find a lot of info on XOC. Fog lights topics were beat to death over there.
