wont start when wet
my 1997 doge 1500, runs like a champ, until just lately, it cranks but wont turn over. the local wrenchbender says that he needs to drop the tank and replace the fuel pump. $$$$$...ugh. I noticed it has coincided with the rain. evry rainy morning (twice lately) it wont start, might be more than a coincidence, plugs and wires maybe, someone else suggested a regulator....any ideas guys?

If you haven't changed the plugs, wires, cap, and button, I would definitely do that before the pump. It can't hurt anything, and it really doesn't make sense as to why a fuel pump would only quit on rainy days. I just had to replace the fuel pump in my 97 Ram 1500, and the pump itself will cost you $400.00

Re: wont start when wet
....and you may not need a whole new pump, there could be an exposed wire somewhere. So once you've done what Kane suggested, if the problem persists look for a wire issue.
Your mechanic since the pump works all the time except for the rain.
