Paint falling off hood.

My 2001 windstar now has a large pant flake missing from the front of the hood. It's like 2" x 2" square. It's just the paint because the primer is still attached. It fell off with a piece of ice that was on the hood.

Has anyone else had an issue like this, and did you get anywhere with Ford?
