Okay, I have a question for you all. Do you find it
distracting when idiots have to use an emoticon for every freaking sentence? It seems to me that the most moronic posters seem to include more of these stupid emoticons than meaningful discussion. Has anyone else noticed this in the forums? I was just wondering.

Re: emoticons
Yes, absolutely. Instead of adding context to the written word as intended, they are used to make up the entire content of the message and found to be sorely lacking.

Re: emoticons
Serious response:
Depends on the poster. Although multiple smilies are a distraction, a well-placed one can add to the impact of the statement, or reduce the perceived slight of the intended reader. Text has virtually no tone (except in the political forum) so they add to it. <sarcastic response edited due to too many smilies>

Re: emoticons
For the record.
![]() I wasn't saying all smilies are bad. It is just that some (names witheld) seem to think they can't post without the screen being full of them.
