I need a Car

I dont know where to post this without getting Biased opinions, so mods please dont delete this, if there is somewhere better to post it, can you move it, or let me know and ill do it? Thanks

In about a Year (when i graduate) Ill be getting a car as a graduation present, so far, ive narrowed the cars i want down to:
Mazda 6
Acura RSX
Toyota Celica GT-S
Scion TC
Tiburon GT

I want something reliable, fuel efficent, easy to work on, easy on insurance, etc... Not necesserily something fast. Ill be getting a CBR600RR this summer, so the car will be a bad weather car while im going to school in AZ. Thanks for your input, and please include reasons for your Choice. Thanks.

*edit* naturally, it will be a manual

Re: I need a Car

Go with a 4-cylinder Mazda6 sedan. It's everything you listed that you wanted, and pretty sporty too. The 2.3L Mazda engine is simple, powerful, and economical enough for your needs. The RSX or tC could work too, although insurance will be higher since they are sport coupes. The Tiburon GT doesn't get the best gas mileage (since it's got a V6), and the Celica GT-S is definitely meant for performance and not a whole lot else.

how about the mazda3 hatchback?
2.3l 160hp/150ftlbs.
bad:
0-60 is .2 off the 6
1/4 is .3 off the 6

Good:
70-0 is 15' shorter
skidpad is .7 higher
~2 mpg better
~500 lbs. lighter
cheaper insurance
and a few grand less.

Re: I need a Car

The Mazda3 sedan or hatchback could work too. And I don't see how the Mazda3 can be slower than the Mazda6 when they both have the same engine; the Mazda3 is noticeably lighter. It's probably got tighter gearing too.

The Mazda3/6 are nice cars. But I just can't say no to the RSX. There is a lot of aftermarket stuff for it.

Re: I need a Car

The TC's are very nice and have alot of cool features *what other car u know that has illumnated cupholders if u want* While the RSX will be quick. As for celica there won't be ne new ones seeing as they are killing them off. Just in case you where wanting a new one.

Re: I need a Car

If the RSX is the Type S...then winner hands down...if not...then the next fastest is the Celica GT-S

Best of luck

Re: I need a Car

The question isn't which one is the fastest, NISSANSPDR. He's looking for something reliable, easy to work on, good on gas, and easy on insurance.

Re: I need a Car

I'm sure the 2.3L in the Mazda3 is more economical than the high-revving motors in the Celica GT-S and RSX-S. Besides, performance is low on his priority list, so why deal with the discomforts of a sport coupe when he could get a nice sedan like the Mazda3?

Re: I need a Car

im going to suggeset the tC even though it is high on insurance since its a coupe.
2.4L engine 160hp/163torque.
22mpg city and 30 highway
toyota reliability, which means itll last longer than the mazda, VERY easy to work on. The interior styling is great, and even the rear seats decline, the car surprised me with its little features for the first month and a half lol. well go out and test drive some cars, dont take what i say to heart, buy whatever you like the most

I would get the 3 or tC. Im leaning toward the tC. I just like toyotas a lot. They last for ever, are good on gas, and the tC rides good. I have never driven a 3, I have heard good things about them. The tC and 3 are simalar. Same HP, both big displacement I4's. I say drive them then pick from there
