Driver side brake noises
I have a 4D 2WD 98 Blazer with 64K miles. The front drivers side brake makes a cruuck cruuck cruuck noise that slows as I come to a stop and is usually only audible about 15 feet prior to coming to a stop until I stop. This noise only happens when the brakes are being applied and is distinctly coming from the drivers side. Before Lt suggests it... Yes I've grease all Zerks and All have accepted about two pumps of grease. The pads have about 1/3 of their life left but this noise has been happening for about six months or so and is bugging the ever lovin ^%$# out of me. Any suggestions? Could this be a rotor issue... or would it most likely be the pads moving funny. If it helps, it seems like I get slightly excessive noise from the front brakes when backing and the brakes are releasing.

Re: Driver side brake noises
If you are say travelling 40-50mph and your press the brakes moderately, does the truck shake at all?

Re: Driver side brake noises
More than likely your pads are worn out and you are riding the indicators.

Re: Driver side brake noises
this is not the case..indicators aren't near touching the rotor

Re: Driver side brake noises
I checked out all four pads in front... I wouldn't post unless I was stumped after checking the simple stuff. I'll recheck the dust sheild but didn't recall any issues there. I wonder if the rotor is warped funny and causes the caliper to flex when the brake is applied??? Could this fexing cause the noise?

Re: Driver side brake noises
Did you find any play in the front bearings?

Re: Driver side brake noises
Check the edges of the pads where they contact the sliders. A light coating of silicone grease may resolve the noise..
