can a remote immobiliser be disconnected?
Hi,was just wandering....on a 1998 kia sportage you require a remote to deactivate the immobilser.... or you can enter the code throught the combination on the accelerator.
does anyone know if there is a fuse etc that can be removed so i dont have a need for the remote? the remote has died and will take considerable time to get another one and each time i need to drive the car, i would rather not have to enter it via the accelerator until then... anyone know? cheers jason |

Re: can a remote immobiliser be disconnected?
I am not aware of this feature on cars sold in North America ..nothing in owners handbook, nothing in the electrical diagrams......however, I remember questions about this from european friends...
