95 V-10 transmision problem
I Have A 1995 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 Truck With A V-10 If I Let It Sit For A While And Crank It Up It Will Not Go Into Reverse Untill You Rib It Up. Then It Slams Into Gear, And When You Take Off In Drive After It Sits It Will Only Shift Into Second Gear But If I Get It About 3000 Rpms And Let Off The Gas It Will Shift. After It Shifts Out One Time It Shifts Perfect The Whole Time Im Driving. Does Anyone Know If This Is A Simple Problem To Fix Or Do I Need A Rebuild.

have you checked your fluid level and color? If your fluid is even a pint low, it could cause cavatation and delayed shifts b/c it has to take a while to build up pressure.

I have changed the fluid and filter. The fluid that came out of the tranny was clean and their wasn't any metal in the pan. I checked the fluid level while running in neutral and it shows to be full.

How many miles? If there's a dirty passage or gunked up spring/check ball in the transmission IMO it could cause the problem you're experiencing. Next time you have it opened up, you may want to remove the valve body and clean it thoroughly. Good time to install a shift kit too, if you've got a lot of miles on it.

The truck has 116,000 miles, that could be some of the problem.It has sat up for about the last year and drove only a few miles a month. What could i put in the tranny to maybe soften the seals and unstick any valves?

Yeah; letting a high mileage vehicle sit is oftentimes bad news. There are numerous transmission flush products out there, and removing the valve body and cleaning it can't hurt either. You've already changed the fluid so that wasn't the problem.
