S2000 Track Run (first time, need knowledge)

Hi, I have a stock 2003 S2000. I haven't done much with my car except just launches and sliding around street corners and stuff like that, races with friends.. But, my friends and I have arranged a day at the local race track, just to test out and see what the cars can do..

(Stuff like Autocross, Time Trial, and Slalom)

However i have heard of stuff like having to use special brake coolant on so that you dont overheat the brakes, and tire pressure (i think its 40psi on both rear and front wheels) and other stuff...

I'll probably use oversteer and drift methods to take corners, so i was wondering if anyone has experience with track races, knowing the S2000, what i should do before a day at the track. And what possible things could happen to the car (excessive wear on the clutch, e.g)

It's my first time, so i dont want to get all hardcore and force the car too much...

Also does anyone know the Quarter Mile for the stock S2000?

thanks, for all the help....

-Jason

Re: S2000 Track Run (first time, need knowledge)

1/4 mile is 14.1
and the only thing you need to know about track driving is to be carful of snaparound with oversteering it happens more than the average rwd on the s2k, if your really going to go all out on the track im not sure if you need to change brake fluid or tire pressure, try www.s2ki.com internation s2000 forum
