Fuel filter

OK, I goit all my supplies for the little tune up i'm getting ready to do. Including the fuel line tool. Any hints on taking the fuel filter off before I start. I've heard it could be a @!#$@#%. I have a 2001 sport 4.0 with about 68000 miles. Thanks in advace for any hints. Wish me luck.

You need to clamp both sides of the fuel line and wear eye protection. The spring clamps on both sides of the filter will need to be released with the plastic tool that is sold at all auto part stores. You can buy the set or just the one that fits the fuel filter. The trick is not to try and pull the line off until you get the tool completly in the spring clamp. its almost a push in then pull. It will take a few wiggles then it will release and pour about a pint of fuel in your face. Good luck.
