Brake system question?

when i apply the brakes and just before the car comes to a complete stop, it leaps forward, thats the best way i can explain it, its not a smooth stop, feels like the tranny is shifting into a lower gear might be a better way to explain it, anybody have an idea of what this might be? BTW its for my 03 bonnie

is the car equipped with ABS? (Anti-Lock Brakes)

if so, do any of the warning lights come on on the dash?

yes the car has abs, and no light comes on, it doesnt feel like the brake system because when i take the car out of gear or drive it doesnt do it, so im thinking maybe the toque converter is locking up or first gear is shifting to slow and hard before i come to a stop

Re: Brake system question?

I think your interpretation is accurate but it is a problem because it must be combined with an high idle speed, like you have a problem with the idle air motor and it is just like you are pressing the brake and throttle pedals at same time, at least at the speed at which it occurs. Possible it reverts to normal idle speed after that jerk....
