Question Keyless entry install?

I have a 200 grand am se. It did not come with a keyless entry system so I went out and got one because I was told they were easy to install. I boughta audiovox AA-92, lock, unlock and an option button. Well the instructions in it are not very good, at least for me they are not specific enough to figure out what I am doing. So if anyone knows a place with good detailed instructions that I can get online or has any other helpful input that would be great. Thanks Brandon

Re: Keyless entry install?

Try getting in touch with Audiovox there may be a web site or phone number in your instructions or the operations manual that came with the keyless entry system.

Re: Keyless entry install?

Power locks can be done a couple of ways in those cars... Usually I go behind the fuse panel on the driver's side (you have to pull it out a fair amount to access the wires) and use light blue and white for lock and unlock respectively. I'm pretty sure they're positive trigger, so you'll need acouple of relays or an inverter. The other method is to find a white wire in the kickpanel area that shows ground on lock, an a different value on unlock. Again, you'll need a couple of relays. A ground pulse on the wire will lock the doors, and a ground pulse through a 1500-ohm resistor will unlock the doors.
