crv rear brake problem

i have 2002 with 59,500km and the driver side rear brake and rotor are finished. the other 3 brakes have more than 50% remaining. the dealer said this happened due to lack of servicing the calipers. has anyone had this problem or heard of this happening. $450 dollars and new rear brakes i thought should have beeen covered under the warrenty.

i have seen this a couple of times. One of the pads either inboard or outboard gets stuck and the othere wears in no time fast.

Brakes need to be serviced or problems like that will happen. The dealer is 100% correct something that's caused by skipped maintenance isn't not covered under warranty.

I had to deal with a customer at Honda with a 2003 Accord 11,000 miles with only 15% left of the pads. After arguing with me for a while, then my service manager, and finally Honda he ended up paying for 4 rotors and 2 sets of pads + labor.

Brakes are rarely covered by warranty, especially pads, shoes, rotor's, and drums.

Another one, customer brought in a Prelude with painted calipers that were leaking. This one was on Ext. Warranty(Honda Care) They sent out an inspector and the calipers would have been covered if it weren't for the paint. They said the paint dried up the seals and you SOL buddy.
