boost leak?

Ok, so today I was bored and decided to take off my Recirculation pipe going to my hard pipe, just for fun to head how much louder it was. so im out driving around and it is much louder but I notice I loose all my power at 3200 rpm. is this normal? also at idle there was alot of air comming out of the bov. and a leaking noise. (this is the stock plastic bov)

thanx guys

Re: boost leak?

Yes, that's perfectly normal. I got my 95 GSX back from the garage, and apparently that put on the recirculation tube pointing up...the put a "new" clamp on it, but they didn't put it on so it would recirculate...so it was NOT attached to the BOV. (idiot...i went back and got my money back lol)... SO it was like that and I didn't know it, but I was driving home and I was in any gear and if I hit 4,000 RPMS, I could have the gas down but it wouldn't do anything...just hear some air shooting but nothing would happen. When the turbo kicks in...it sucks air from the BOV cause it feeds the turbo..if it's not recirculating...nothing happens...so i put the tube back on and it was fine...so yes, it is normal.

I liked it to because it was hella loud....and I figured somethign was wrong so I looked under the hood and I went WTF....but just letting you know from experience that it's normal for it to do that....

Question though..you got a new engine..because of crankwalk or for performance reasons?? Did you get crankwalk??? Cause if you did I would like to know at what mileage because....I have 86k. Lemme know

Peace

Re: boost leak?

Um... if you don't have the dump tube recirculating you are drawing in unaccounted for air!!! kinda makes the ECU think that you aren't getting as much air as you really are because the MAFS isn't reading it... I believe that causes you to run lean...and that really isn't good!!!
