I know this is a 3000gt forum but please give a young man advice.....
I have a choice to either get a 1994 3000gt (not vr4) 117,000 red..... it has a new transmission, new timing belt and the owner says it runs like new..... or 1993 325is coupe 125,000 and he says there is nothing wrong with the car and has all records..... both of the Bodys look good..... this might seem crazy but i'm not going to pay full coverage on none of these cars (too much) both are about the same price, 3000gt is about $400 more..... i'm 23 and the 3000gt has been my dream car since i was younger but now that i'm older i have to decide which will run better in the long run..... for the past few years i have been attracted to the 325is 1992 and up.....and i have seen these cars run for more than 200,000 miles where as I have not seen too many 3000gt run that long..... I know some(family and friends) might ask..... "why are u buying these cars if u can't afford to maintain them" well, i like to spoil myself.... don't look at me funny but I don't plan on racing either of these cars, just to drive around and look nice (I have too many speeding tickets ie why i don't plan on getting full coverage) thankx everyone |

Re: 3000gt or 325is..... need help
Well if your serious about the cars you should have the one you think you'll get checked out my a mechanic who knows what they're doing. They're both nice cars, in my opinion the 3000GT would be more fun and better looking but less practical (can't realy seat 4 comfortably, large doors, rougher ride, etc). Mechanicaly they could both be time bombs or run for 250,000 miles, I think our main moderator YogsVR4 has/had one with a rediculous amound of miles on it so the 3000GT can run strong for a long time also. What is the asking price for the 3000GT? Ones with that high milage I've seen sell for 3-4k.

Well if you have a need for loading more than one person into your car then go with the BMW. If that's not an issue then everything points to getting the 3000GT. You don't see a 3000GT everyday, but you do see 20 BMW 3-series' a day, and if you want to look good you want something less known. In my opinion the 3000GT looks better, will run as long, and is a better choice than the BMW. That is of course a biased opinion though b/c I own one. As for my opinion about you buying one and barely affording it...not a good idea, don't throw yourself into debt just to look good, wait until you know you can afford the car and any issues that may come up with it and at least get full coverage because from the looks of it you don't have the money to be throwing around if you get in an accident. Just don't want to see somebody digging a hole for themself.
