some advice on 89 LX 2.3L

a couple of years ago i purchased an 89 LX (4 cyl). the motor ran and the body is in really good shape. the transmission wouldnt shift out of 2nd gear and the interior was kinda ragged. i used this car to learn a lot about how engines work. i took some stuff out and replaced stuff and generally had a good time doing it. when i couldnt go any further without fixing the transmission, i held up and havent really done anything else to it.

I also have a 95 T-Bird (4.6 V8) that i bought from a cousin that needed money. i let my sister borrow it and shes promptly wrecked it twice. the front end is smacked up and the rear passenger side is crushed pretty good. so, that got me thinking about maybe doing work to both cars. i have a mustang that the body is pristine, and i have a t-bird that has a nice engine/tranny but the body is crushed.

so i was thinking about putting the tbird engine in the mustang body. i know this will probably require a lot of work, but luckily i have the whole t-bird to pick parts from. so i guess i have two questions:

1) aside from the engine and tranny, what other parts will i need to complete this quest

2) what parts from question #1 can i salvage from the Tbird

sorry for being vague, but i really dont know what is required when doing a project of this size. i have heard that when going up in engine size that much, then the rear end and brakes would need to be replaced. but im sure there are lots of smaller things, such as fuel pump, etc. luckily, i have the whole tbird to pick parts from, assuming they will fit into or onto the mustang.

thanks in advance
mike
