Aftermarket Stereo Fitment

I have been looking around for a stereo for my fiance's '99 Intrigue. Most sites have a very limited selection of decks that fit. Why is this? For example, there is only 1 Alpine deck that Crutchfield says will fit. But when you look at the measurements of these decks, they are all 6.25" deep, so why wouldn't every 6.5" deck fit?

Anyone have any input about making their stereo fit?

Re: Aftermarket Stereo Fitment

I don't know about you, but when I go to the Crutchfield website, a ton of CD recievers fit my car. Are you sure you typed in the Intrigue?

Try this link. Here's my Crutchfield results.

Re: Aftermarket Stereo Fitment

you may have to buy a fitkit that sticks out a half inch or so. Not a big deal, in fact, most kits come with the optional elongated piece to accomodate either .25" or .5". Pretty much any standard deck will fit in it.
