Check all the fuses to it. I saw a Chrysler with no spedometer and wouldn't shift out of first, no communication with scanner. Turned out to be just a bad fuse. Of course, you'll want to find the reason the fuse blew, if it turns out that is the problem.

Fuses good, went through the trouble trees and they all point to a bad ABS modulator valve assy. $500.00 Anyone ran into a simular problem?

Be carefull before you buy a new abs module. I had the same problem with a 97 wile I was working for GMC. The truck was a 3500hd used for Phone utility truck. The Tech2 would communicate with the ABS. I replaced all kinds of parts after GMs techline was really unable to help. A new module did not help. Checked every wire and terminal. I ended up quitting the GMC job over things like this. The reps don't always resolve the problem and the service manager is looking at you. Anyway, soapbox here.
