Body Control Module Bad?
My 97 GJC after starting would immediately shut down. Also, the gauges and power windows would only work intermentently at best. When I turn the key to accessory Gauges and Windows always worked.
A trusted mechanic told me the BCM was bad and needed to be repaired/reprogrammed/replaced. He said the car shutting down after start was the bcm engaging the anti-theft deterent. Oddly enough he figured out with the power windows disconnected from the bcm everthing works great. I like my power windows though. What do you think? do I need to send my bcm off for repair/reprogamming or replacing? |

I read a related post that stated a bad ground as a result of taking stuff a part could cause the problem. I did remove and reinstall my stereo a while back, perhaps that created a bad ground?
