Dual Exhaust

Hey all, 1st thread on this forum. I have as my name implies a 96 buick century. Recently i chopped off my muffler and put a cherrybomb in its place, and I LOVE the sound of it. It has a nice low rumble to it at idle and i can hear it from the driveway to the inside my house, JUST IDLEING. Now i am 17 and cant afford 900$ awesome exhaust systems so ... i just put a cherrybomb on my car .

Now what i want to know is, is there a catalytic that comes at 1 inlet but 2 outlets, like a "Y" shape, cuz my summer project is going to be putting dual straightbacks on my car, i got the welder, and everything i just need to know if there is such a thing as the "Y" catalytic. Im going to reroute my exhaust so it comes straight back, instead of bending and twisting all over the place.

Your help is greatly appreciated.
THANX! =)
Mike

Re: Dual Exhaust

The deal is, on the FWD V6, the front bank of cylinder's exhaust goes around the engine on the drivers side, and connects to the header for the rear cylinders. The exhaust leaves there and travels to the cat and the muffler before exiting.

If you want duals, you're gonna have to make some headers(I dont think anyone produces them) or split them up after the cat.

by going straight to the back like you want, you're lowering the exhaust to the ground, increasing your chance of scraping.
