Mpg ...

Whats everyone getting on theri fuel mileage? We headed to my parents for Easter today which is about 50 miles away. On the way there i was getting a very shocking 28.4 mpg. and on the way back home i got 26.7mpg. The most i have ever got was about 26.5 when we went to Florida last summer. I have the EXT Montana so im sure its different between the short Montana and the EXT version.

We have a EXT as well. It generally averages about 33 miles per Imperial Gallon, that's 160 oz. or one quart bigger than a U.S. gallon, or 4.55 liters.

While the Driver Information Center on ours does a metric or US measurement it generally works out to about 26 miles per US gallon.

So I'd say you are in the ball park.

Not bad for a 4,400 pound boat, huh?

Re: Mpg ...

great thing about it is that it seems you can go forever on a tankful. Heading back from Florida last summer i filled up in southern part of AL and never got gas again. I had about a 1/4 tank when got back to Indiana. 600 miles roughly

Three years ago we took the van on a cross-country trip through northern Ontario all the way to Victoria, BC, stopping in Edmonton on the way out and Calgary on the way back, then traveled south through Alberta to Montana and then east through the mid west, just shy of 6,200 miles and 18 stops.

We were fully loaded with about 300 lb of luggage, a console mounted VCP/TV and PlayStation for the kids. Two adults and two teen kids. I figure we were hauling about 900 lbs total. We averaged (over all 32 to 33 m/ig or 27m/usg). Even going through the Rocky Mountains both ways yielded upwards of 30 m/ig or 24m/usg.

Re: Mpg ...

when i was getting 26.x mpg during our trip to Flordia, the van was loaded down. The rear bench was removed so i could get all the suitcases, daughters wagon, coolers, rafts etc. I couldnt stuff another thing in the rear cargo. This year we are thinking about getting one of those cargo bags that strap to the luggage bars on top. that will hamper the MPGs.
