Haha, I'm such a dumbass
Well to start with I was already tired, as it was about 12:30 in the morning, and I was distracted, as I was talking to my friend while I was refueling...to make a long story short, I drove off without putting the gas cap back on, and somewhere between the gas station and albertson's, the gas cap set sail from my rear decklid...I spent 45 minutes retracing my steps and walking in the road looking for it, but no luck
 My question is, in order to get a replacement gas cap, can I just go down to any auto parts store and get one, or are they vehicle specific and do I have to order one from a dealership? Thanks.

You could order one from the dealership...but in my experience dealership screw you every oportunity they get...so it'll probably ridiculously over priced. I'd go check out the local junkyard or post a message in the maxima forum and see if anyone is parting one out.
As far as if they are universal or not...I honestly have no clue...if they are...you can have the one of my honda accord.
