Angry Quit Smoking

So I haven't had a cigarette since 6pm (eastern) yesterday. I even went to bed early last night so I wouldn't flip out before going to bed (didn't work because I went to bed at 9pm and didn't get to sleep until somewhere around 2am). So yeah...I'm flipping out hardcore right now (almost 4pm). The only thing that is helping me keep my cool is the fact that I've got a crazy buzz all day for some reason, maybe it's lack of sleep or some weird withdrawl effect.
Anyone else out there go through this before?

Re: Quit Smoking

I hear ya. I used to smoke when I was younger, but I was never addicted to it and just quit with no problem. But after smoking 1 pack per day for the past 5 years straight (at one point I was up to 2 packs a day of Camel Wides), it's hard as f***. I never even thought I'd get addicted since I didn't before, but I was wrong. I know once I do quit, it will be easy to not do it again (like had 1 every couple weeks or months when I'm drinking).
I'm mostly quiting because I already have high colesterol (sp?), and history of heart disease and cancer in my family. But damn do I want one bad

Re: Quit Smoking

Well for me, when I first started up I really just plain didn't give a sh*t about my health or stinking. And the girls I meet never seem to mind, but looking back at the kind of women I meet...yeah maybe I should stop smoking

But I broke down and bought a pack I just couldn't take it, I was ready to smash my head into the wall. Cold turkey is not the way for me to go. I'll just have to cut back gradually, but I'll get there.

Re: Quit Smoking

Yeah I might try that. My mom is trying to quit too and she always offers me the patches when I talk about quiting. For me it's more of just something to keep me busy, so I smoke cigs; so I'm not sure it'd even work for me. I think I'm just a pansy ass. I know deep down I could quit but I'm just stopping myself from doing it. I think I need to find a new hobby or something to keep my mind busy. I guess I could borrow my friend's opinion and only smoke something if it's going to get me high, seems to work for him I don't know, it's just stupid to smoke. Got to quit sometime.

Re: Quit Smoking

my girlfriend just started smoking again. and she doesn't seem to care, so i think i am gonna drop her to the curb after a year.

No offense, but i think smoking is the most disgusting thing on the planet. I can't the smell or anything.

But i am so proud of you that you are quitting that is so hard man and i totally give you props!

I would trade my testicles for my girlfriend to never smoke again.

Re: Quit Smoking

try chewing lots of gum, or having suckers or hard candy (jolly ranchers, now & laters, etc). part of the habit anyway, is just having sumthin in u'r mouth. so if u'r always chewin on sumthin or suckin on sum jolly ranchers, that'll keep u'r mouth busy anyway. another thing, if u'r on the not heavy side, just eat a lot more. snack like a mo fo. yeah u'll gain sum weight, but again it'll keep ur mouth busy. props to u recognizing the problem and tryin to quit. i'm behind ya 100%.

Re: Quit Smoking

I've been loading myself up with chocolate today, trying not to smoke. I've got to get out of this house, think it'll be a little easier for me that way. Thanks for the support everyone, I appreciate it.
