Hey guys I had installed a remote starter myself on my civic about 2 months ago. The starter unit itself has a long black wire which is the antenna. I have no idea where to put this. I routed it through the firewall though the engine into the front bumper and its been there ever since, but I dont think its getting best reception there. I dont like how I have to stand about 15 feet from my car to just start it with a remote. Does anyone have any better ideas as to where I should route this wire? The manual did not mention that at all. The wire isnt really long enough for it to be in the back bumper. Is there anyway to extend it or make the antenna better? Its just a black wire that comes straight out of the starter unit itself and has no plug. It just comes out. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks, Richard

yeah the best place is on your windshield. just try to get it to "hide" on the side.the higher you put it the better

Re: Quick remote start question
Actually, you'll get better reception with the antenna away from metal. The antenna is designed to be mounted on your windshield. The best place for it is in the center, up top. Just pop off your a-pillar cover, run it up there and tuck it under the headliner, but make sure the actually antenna part isn't stuck to the metal of the roof. What is the model of the alarm? Just curious.
